Words

They say the memories are golden,
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted just memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
no other could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway,
and heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to heaven,
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as god calls us,
one by one.
Our chain will link again.

If It Should Be...

If it should be that I grow weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand;
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years -
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come, so let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve - it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years -
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

Lone Star Bulldog Memorial:

Lone Star Bulldog Rescue - Scooter

Scooter

A Memorial For Scoot Scoot from Stephanie...

Scooter came to Lone Star Bulldog Rescue with a broken spirit and second chance.  He had not had much luck in life and had been passed around from home to home.  No one could figure out why he was so unhappy.  Finally, our little grumpy Scoot had been treated for some stomach issues and started a road to recovery that would soon make him a happy pup.  He developed into a happy bully and was adopted by Stephanie, a wonderful bulldog lover who would turn Scooter into the king of all bullies. Scooter was her best friend and she enjoyed every second of their time. Scooter was a perfect fit for Stephanie and her family. The first day he came into their lives, he fit in like he belonged with them. He thought he was tough and a mean Bully, but he was really a sweet, grumpy old man. Everyone loved Scooter and he was such a show off when guests were over. He did all of his tricks for everyone: sit; shake; high five; he would even do a double roll over. He got a treat every time he did a trick. He would snap it out of her hand like a shark. But their grand finale would be for her to put the treat on the tip of her lips and he would ever so gently take it from her.  It showed their love and trust they had for each other. She could go on and on forever about how much she loved Scooter; what he did that was funny, favorite toys, etc. But the bottom line is she thanks the Lone Star Bulldog Rescue for giving her the opportunity to have Scooter in her life. It is a memory that will be with her for the rest of her life. Having a bulldog is such a special gift and because of Lone Star Bulldog Rescue, they were able to have a wonderful life together.
